MEDITATIONS FROM ISAIAH

Reading: Isaiah 65:11-16

"Behold, My servants shall eat” Isaiah 65:13

Take note, my soul, how discriminating your Lord is in your favor. You are a servant of the Lord of Hosts because He has called you to Himself and made you His personal possession. Because you are clothed in His righteousness and your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, He promises to care for you.

“Behold, My servants shall eat … Behold My servants shall drink … Behold My servants shall rejoice … Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart.”

These promises are made specifically to the Lord’s servants. But, what qualifies one to be His servant? “My people …have sought Me.” They are not among those who forsake Him, or who forget His holy mountain. His servants do not serve another other god apart from the Lord, but they turned to Him when He called. Servants of the Living God hear Him when He speaks and choose not to participate in those things which displease Him.

The Lord’s provisions for His servants are always spread on His table. You will never look for food or drink and find the table bare. His Word is your sustenance and His fellowship always satisfies your thirst. As Mephibosheth fed at the table of the king, so you are invited to feast at the table prepared by the Lord Himself.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” Ps 23:5-6.

“Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men!” Ps 31:19.

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world … This is the bread which came down from heaven -- not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever" John 6:51, 58.

"Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life" John 4:13-14.

And He said to me, "Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you." So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness” Ezek 3:3.

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing"
