Reading: Acts 7:54-60
“Look! I see the
heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” Acts 7:56
O, soul of mine, there have been
times and circumstances when you have needed to look up with the expectation of
seeing your Savior standing at the right hand of God. It is a sight beyond
explanation—one that you cannot begin to describe to your friends. It is one of
those spiritual experiences that must remain secret between you and your God.
You needed help and He gave it, comfort and He provided it, wisdom and He imparted
it, discernment and He granted it. At such times the words of scripture
resounded in your heart:
“My God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Phil 4:19-20.
This is your Savior, your Provider and Caretaker. This is
Jesus, Victor, Vanquisher and Conqueror. This is your Redeemer, your
Intercessor and Great High Priest. You need no other for He is your All in All.
You have no need He cannot meet for He is your great I AM. There is no burden
He cannot carry, enemy He cannot defeat, and darkness He cannot fill with
light. He is your Brother, Friend, and Lover.
“He is also able to save to the
uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make
intercession for them” Heb 7:25.
Before
the throne of God above
I
have a strong, a perfect plea –
A
great High priest, whose name is love,
Who
ever lives and pleads for me.
My
name is graven on His hands,
My
name is written on His heart;
I
know that while in heaven He stands,
No
tongue can bid me thence depart.
When
Satan tempts me to despair,
And
tells me of the guilt within,
Upward
I look, and see Him there
Who
made an end of all my sin.
Because
the sinless Saviour died,
My
sinful soul is counted free;
For
God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
Behold
Him there – the risen Lamb!
My
perfect, spotless Righteousness,
The
great unchangeable “I AM,”
The King of Glory and of grace.
One
with Himself, I cannot die;
My
soul is purchased by His blood;
My
life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Saviour, and my God.

“Who shall bring a charge against
God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who
died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at
the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” Rom 8:33-34.
“Sir, we wish to
see Jesus” John 12:21.
