Reading: Revelation 14:1-5
"They are without fault before the Throne of God” Revelation
14:5
Miracle of Miracles! An assembly of human beings standing before God without fear,
without sin, and declared faultless. Someone once wrote, “Far from the
world of grief and sin, with God eternally shut in.”
These redeemed ones were
not huddling beneath the Throne of God, for then they would be under His feet,
dominated by Him. They are not behind the Throne where they are hidden from His
sight; they are not far off where they could not be scrutinized, but before the
Throne where they could see God and He them. His all-seeing, all knowing, all
piercing eye can scrutinize them and marvelously declare them without fault! All
the saints in heaven are before the Throne where God can see them and we Him.
The saints are in an
unchanging position, an irreversible, unchanging position before God. We know
our sinfulness when we see the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Among the saints
who are there are those who were murderers, fornicators, thieves and robbers, kidnappers
and abusers of children; lawless persons in the extreme. Their guilt and shame
caused by varying acts but they are now standing before God’s throne and
declared faultless! They are each one in this position because they have all
been washed clean by the blood of Jesus.
“These are the ones
who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being
the firstfruits to God and the Lamb” Revelation 14:4.
They were all one in that
they were sinners, now they are one because of the cleansing blood of Jesus
Christ. Christ saves sinners. That is why He came to earth.
“This is a faithful saying and worthy
of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” 1 Timothy 1:15.
Look at the crowd that
journeyed with Jesus, sinners of all kinds, yet now standing before the Throne
of God and declare faultless because they have been redeemed by the blood of
the Lamb.
“And the twelve were
with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities
-- Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the
wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others” Luke 8:1-3.
“The saints in heaven have difficulty recognizing
themselves because they are dazzled with the brightness of Christ’s
righteousness with which they are clothed.” Martin Luther.
