Reading: Isaiah 43:1-13

“That you may know and believe MeIsa 43:10

My soul, ask yourself why God deals with you the way He does? He daily performs miracles in your life, some of which you perceive as love and others as discipline—how long before you understand His acts of discipline are acts of love? How frequently does He open His Word to your understanding and thereby thrill your soul and give you more fodder for which to praise Him? He relieves your burdens as you cast your cares on Him; He gives you His peace when it appears there is no peace to be had; He grants you assurance when you have doubts, and answers prayer when the heavens seem like brass. He parts the Red Sea when it appears you will be engulfed by the enemy; He provides manna when you are surrounded by sand and water when all you can see are rocks. Miraculously you hear a still small voice when the hurricane is about to engulf you, and you are conscious of the company of a Friend when lions are about to consume you. Surely, my soul, there is but one reason why the Almighty interjects Himself into your life as He does—“THAT YOU MAY KNOW AND BELIEVE ME.”

The Scriptures are the biography of God telling of His wonderful works on your behalf. This biography reveals God to you, telling you who He is and what He is like. If only ten percent of what is revealed is true, that should be enough to cause you to fall before Him in repentance, adoration and worship. If you believe only a fraction of who He is and what is revealed of His Person and work then, surely, you must believe in Him with all of your heart and soul. Is there such a thing as a partial believer? Surely not, for the work of grace that He has accomplished in your heart is complete, not partial. You have become a new creature in Christ, not almost new. You have been born again, not still born. If you believe He is your Savior, you must believe He is your Sovereign—the scriptures reveal Him so. If you believe Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, you cannot believe there is another way to be saved—the scriptures give no room for tolerance. If you believe no one can come to Jesus unless our Heavenly Father calls Him, then you cannot believe any person can “accept” Christ by his or her own choosing.

It is time we as Believers accept all that the scriptures reveal to us, not only that which fits into our belief system. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” is the Gospel message. There is no room for tolerance in the way you are saved neither in the manner you acknowledge who He is.

Do not refer to yourself as a Believer unless you are willing to believe all that that His Word and Spirit reveals to you about Him. Partial believers must prepare to hear the words, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

Do not be as Thomas whose philosophy said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe" John 20:25

Hear the words of Jesus to the Samarian woman, “Woman, believe Me” John 4:21.

"I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep” John 10:25-26.

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” Deut 6:5

There is no room for partiality in God—His Person or His work.

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing"
