FROM ISAIAH

Isaiah 53:1-12
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him” Isa
53:10
My soul, this is one of those areas
in scripture when you must be like Moses as he approached the burning bush—you
must remove your shoes because you are about to walk on holy ground. Lay aside
anything that might hinder your approach or violate God’s holiness. Plead the
very righteousness of Jesus with which you are clothed. Recognize with a
grateful heart what Jesus has accomplished for you so that you might approach
the throne of God boldly—not recklessly, but with the confidence that you have
been made one with Him.
To the unsaved soul these words
will appear harsh and incomprehensible, for of what loving father can it be
said that it pleased him to bruise his son? The Heavenly Father must have
suffered equal agony as He saw His Son burdened with your sin, even more so,
His Son became sin. Was it not His own holiness that forced Him to turn away
and break any oneness with His only Son? Yet it pleased Him to bruise Him.
The plan for your redemption that
was agreed upon in the heavenly counsel was in the process of being
accomplished. The willingness of His Son to endure what was necessary pleased
the Father. This was the only way that His anger could be appeased and His
justice satisfied. He took no pleasure in bruising His Son, yet it pleased Him
because of the ramifications of His death. God and man reconciled—
“For if when we were enemies we
were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been
reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” Rom 5:10.
The death of Jesus was primarily
for His Father as the Levitical offerings and sacrifices clearly show, for it
was for the sake of the Father that you have been reconciled to God. Oh, my
soul, what mercy, love and grace has been extended to you because the justice
of God has been satisfied by your Savior’s death.
Now all things are of God, who has
reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ” 2 Cor 5:18
“And you, who once were alienated and
enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of
His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach
in His sight” Col 1:21-22
