MEDITATIONS FROM ISAIAH

January 10, 2007

Reading: Isaiah 41:8-10

I am your God” Isaiah 41:10

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory” 1 Timothy 3:16.

Thou art the One, Almighty King

Who causes my dead soul to sing;

‘Tis Thou, whose holy feet have trod

This earth, so I may call Thee King.

‘Tis Thee, O Righteous Judge of all,

That paved the way so I may call

Upon Thy mercy and Thy grace,

Enabling me to see Thy face.

Thou art He, YAHVAH is Thy Name,

Now, for ever, Thou art the same;

Thy glory, hidden from my sight,

Revealed in radiating Light.

‘Twas Thee, who through Thy Son did’st call

My sinful, broken, dying soul;

By Thy Spirit You’ve granted Light,

Reversing my eternal plight.

Chosen in Christ, Thy love for me

Written in heaven for all to see;

No condemnation now I fear,

Love in my soul for One so dear.

It remains, my soul, a mystery,

This wondrous love of God for me;

By faith I know You will remain

My God and King, ever the same.

Eternal Father, You who has loved me before the foundation of the world, forgive my lack of thankfulness for all You have done for me. Grant, through Your Spirit, an ever increasing desire to spend time in Your presence so I might know You better, love You greater, and serve You in utter abandonment. You are my God, my Elohim, and there is none like You. That One as great and so full of majesty and honor should be manifest in the flesh and love me with an everlasting love, is beyond my comprehension. Accept the praise of my heart for it is offered in deepest sincerity.
